This year the walk will be in aid of two local charities – the Foodbank and the SpArC Trust. The Foodbank was opened in 2020 in response to the Pandemic but has proved very necessary to the local community giving food and essential supplies to about 40 local families including now Ukranian regugees. it has now set up a hardship fund to oparticularly help them.
The SpArC Trust was formed when Shropshire Council threatened to close out local spoorts and arts centre along with its theatre. The charity succeeded in raising money to keep the centre alive and thriving. It is now managed by Shropshire Council with then trust providing valueable financial support.
