Bishop’s Castle is a Walkers are Welcome town just a few miles from the Welsh border surrounded by the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is excellent hill walking in all directions. The Challenge Walk crosses hills to the west and north giving superb views of 100s of miles of unspoilt countryside.
The walk will once again to raise money for Bishop’s Castle Town Hall. The 18th century Grade 11* listed hall is now a community hub and welcomes visitors to the area. The Town Hall is the home of Bishop’s Castle Town Hall Trust, a charitable company which manages the building for the benefit of the local people and visitors. It has a market hall and an upstairs art gallery and hosts a variety of events from weekly markets to talks, workshops, music evenings and book and craft fairs. Both the market hall and upstairs chamber are available for weddings and other private celebrations and parties.
